University of Michigan Residence Halls Association --The 55th Session

 

Who?

We are an assembly of representatives from each of the residence halls on campus. We are lead by an 8 member Executive Board. Our general assembly is comprised of representatives from each of the reisdence halls on campus. Thay act as lesasions between their own Hall and Mulitcultrual Councils and the community of representatives: the RHA assembly. Within the general assembly, there are 7 committees comprised of assembly members and non-members.

What?

We are an assembly body designed to partnership with the Department of Housing in order to represent the needs of all students residing in the residence hall. We fund events, pass resolutions, and uphold a commitment to creating community within the residence halls across campus.

RHA also supports the Residence Hall Movie Channel.

When?

We have general assembly meetings every Thursday night at 7pm. Residence are encouraged to come to these meetings and voice any comments or concerns they have about residence life.

Why?


"We, the residents of the residence halls at the University of Michigan, in order to create a strong and
vibrant community in all residence halls, to strengthen the bonds between the individual residence halls,
to address concerns of residents regarding residence hall issues, to recommend, review, formulate, and
develop policies/procedures/rules relating to the residence halls, to provide representation for residents
to the university administrators, to promote services and opportunities in the residence halls, to create
a forum of discussion, and to promote general social welfare hereby establish this organization known
as the Residence Halls Association and ordain these articles as the Constitution of that organization." (RHA Consistution Preamble)
